On Monday (July 31), Dolce Amara (Tim Tetrick) broke her maiden in style at Red Mile in the only $80,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes division for freshman trotting fillies. Lucas Wallin harnessed the granddaughter of champion Pizza Dolce on a sun-splashed afternoon in Kentucky.

The Illinois Racing Board on July 31 received three applications for 2024 racing dates—two from Hawthorne Race Course for Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing and one from FanDuel Sportsbook and Racing (the former Fairmount Park) for Thoroughbred racing.
