Hawthorne’s harness racing meeting is entering its homestretch with only a trio of weekends left. Its race office has decided to wrap the session with an additional pop-up series that concludes on the track’s closing night.

Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, the northeast Pennsylvania racino, has started swinging into high gear, as on Friday (Feb. 7) it drew for the first qualifying races of the 2025 season, which will begin a week from Saturday, on February 15. Those qualifiers will be held this coming Monday (Feb. 10).

Over Ice, an accomplished invader; and Overthemoonforyou, who has been sensational at this meet, get the top billing in Saturday (Feb. 8) night’s $20,000 California Sire Stakes for the 4-year-old pacing fillies.

The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame’s Living Horse Hall of Fame nominating committee has announced the results of the 2025 elections. Museum members voted for the four horses they believed exemplified greatness: Ariana G, Marion Marauder, Put On A Show, and Shartin N, all celebrated for their racing achievements.

Paul Minore persevered through a wide trip and Bruce Baker powered first over to take their respective $13,100 divisions of the North American Amateur Drivers Association trots at Yonkers Raceway on Thursday night (Feb. 6).
