Batavia, NY — Veteran reinsman Troy Boring reached a milestone on Wednesday night (September 24) at Batavia Downs Gaming when he notched career win 2,500 by driving Stakeout Hall in the sixth race.
The 46-year-old Boring began his career in 1972 when he won two races from 13 starts. His first win came at Jackson Harness Raceway in Michigan.
So far his best year was 1989 when he drove 200 winners and had purse earnings of over $864,000. During his career horses he has driven have earned $11,434,463.
Boring moved to the Western New York circuit this season after racing in Ohio. He is the son of legendary Michigan horseman Norman “Chris” Boring.
“I was born into a successful harness racing operation,” Boring said. “My grandfather Leon was my mentor and along with my dad helped teach me the business.”
