Freehold, NJ — Andy Miller is perennially the leading driver at Freehold Raceway, and he asserted himself on Thursday (Jan. 9) as he won five races on the nine-race program.

Miller teamed up with leading trainer Nick Surick for four of those victories: Cam’s Tux ($17.40) in race one, Always Picky ($4.80) in race two, Ginger Spice N ($2.10) in race four, and Newbie ($3.60) in race seven. Miller completed the five-pack with Fat Boy, for owner/trainer John Urbanski, in the ninth race ($4.40).

That makes 10 wins for Miller in the new year at Freehold, giving him a six-win edge over the competition. He’s earned those 10 wins from 29 drives, good for a 34.4 percent strike rate.
