Live racing will be conducted at Rosecroft with only essential personnel

Fort Washington, MD — Live racing will be conducted this Sunday (March 15) and Wednesday (March 18) at Rosecroft with only essential personnel and Maryland Racing Commission licensed horsemen permitted on the grounds until further notice, due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

Rosecroft’s housekeeping staff has worked diligently sanitizing the paddock in preparation of Sunday night’s 14-race program. Management is asking all horsemen to please be mindful of others, and to stay home if they are feeling under the weather, or exhibiting any symptoms of the virus (fever, cough, or shortness of breath).

Sunday’s card offers lots of competitive racing with a majority of nine-horse fields. The Pick-5 sequence (races two-six) will be challenging and offers a guaranteed pool of $2,500 in conjunction with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program. The new Pick-4 wager starts with race seven and two Pick-3s (races four-six and 11-13) highlight the wagering menu.

As we rapidly approach the midway point of the winter/spring meet John Wagner leads all drivers with 31 tallies, followed closely by Jon Roberts with 29, and defending dash champ Frank Milby with 23. Arlene Cameron leads all trainers with 19 trips to the winner’s circle, followed by the smoking hot Frank Milby stable with 11 wins out of 23 starters, good for a 47 percent training percentage.
