USHWA Donates to Goshen Historic Track

Goshen, NY – The United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) today (Aug. 24) announced a generous donation to Goshen Historic Track.

“The USHWA Executive Board felt that being unable to conduct racing this summer put an unprecedented hardship on Goshen Historic Track, as they would not collect funds—from program, ticket and food sales—that typically help to maintain this historic property,” Kimberly Rinker, USHWA President, stressed. “USHWA strives to help those within the industry in times of need, and this is certainly one of those times.”

Steve Jones, Goshen Historic Track President, concurred.

“We are committed to supporting our horsemen in their time of need, and we encourage everyone in the business to do the same,” Jones noted. “We strive to maintain the great history and tradition associated with Goshen Historic Track. We sincerely appreciate everyone who contributes to this worthy cause.”

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, no spectators will be allowed at the Goshen Historic Track races—the County Fair Races & Landmark Stakes—scheduled for Sept. 6. However, they will be simulcast via the Goshen Historic Track website and Facebook page and on the New York Sires Stakes website.
