Monticello, NY — Mike Merton led all drivers on the 12-race Monticello card on Tuesday (Dec. 29) with four winners.

Former leading dash winner Jim Devaux won three races and Greg Merton also had three trips to the winner’s circle.

Ricky Be Sharp earned his fourth consecutive win for the combination of trainer Rob Harmon and Mike Merton.

The classy older campaigner Mariner Seelster won the Open Pace in 1:57.2. McGwire Sowers steered the son of Camluck for trainer Mark Ford.

The 11-year-old gelding is owned by Kelly Ford. It was his third win in his last four starts. The warhorse has lifetime earnings of $607,565 and a lifetime mark of 1:50.4f taken as a 9-year-old.
