Columbus, OH — Richard R. Lopez, 79, of Tecumseh, Mich., died July 11, 2021, at Toledo Hospital.

He was born Feb. 7, 1942, the son of Abelardo and Maria Lopez. He married Nancy Jane Beck on May 6, 1967 and she survives.

Mr. Lopez graduated high school from Adrian Catholic Central in 1960 and served in the U.S. Army. He was a carpenter and trained Standardbreds.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; son, Gus; daughter, Lora (Indalecio) Arriaga; honorary grandchildren, Mistika Young and Allan Gonzalez; brother, Augustine; sister, Bertha; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raul and Larry; and sister, Grace.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday (July 17) at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy., Adrian, Mich., with Fr. Mike Newman presiding. Visitation will also be on Saturday from noon until the time of service at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home.
