Little Lady J overcomes freshman greenness, wins again at The Meadows

Washington, PA — Little Lady J overcame a spot of freshman greenness to win Wednesday’s (June 15) $9,000 co-featured pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, becoming the track’s first 2-year-old this year with a pair of victories.

As she was trying for the lead from post 5, Little Lady J bobbled, forcing Hunter Myers to grab hold and straighten her. Once she regained her composure, the daughter of A Rocknroll Dance-Monet’s Lilly powered to the top and scored easily in 1:55.4. The first-over Lazy Day Hanover was second, 1-3/4 lengths back, with Fear The Electra third.

Mitchell York owns and trains Little Lady J. It was one of three wins for Myers on the 11-race card.

In Wednesday’s other co-features, Soul Shakedown prevailed for Brian Zendt and trainer Jim Daugherty, who owns with Michele Daugherty, while Oh So Smooth was uncatchable on the front end for Aaron Merriman, trainer John Sullivan and owners Greg Usner, Joseph Seman and William Schmidt.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 11-race program features a $17,891.55 carryover in the Jackpot Pick-5 (race 4.) First post is 12:45 p.m.
