Kings County reigns in Dayton feature

Dayton, OH — Kings County took the crown in the $25,000 Open Trot at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway on Tuesday (Oct. 4).

Leaving from post seven, Kings County settled into third along the rail. After an opening quarter in :27.4, driver Brett Miller gave the 2-1 second choice the green light and never looked back. The 6-year-old son of Muscle Hill easily took control of the field to post middle fractions off :56.1 and 1:24.2 before stopping the clock in 1:53.3. Lane Of Stone (driven by Jeff Nisonger) finished second; Big City Pearl (Atlee Bender) was third.

Chris Page led drivers with four victories on the 14-race card. Kayne Kauffman followed closely behind with three wins while Miller and Trevor Smith each scored two. On the training side, Ron Burke was the only to double up on wins.
