East Rutherford, NJ – With a sloppy track and temperatures in the low 50s, the MADC series had one race on the card at The Meadowlands on Saturday night (April 29).

When the gate opened, it was Real Lucky N (Nicole Discostanzo) who sent her pacer to the lead through a 27 second first quarter in the slop and a half in 55 seconds. It looked like the first half mile may have been too much.
When the field entered the stretch, Discostanzo’s lead was diminishing, but she was able to hold onto a neck victory over a game Grateful Kiss (Anthony Verruso), who was parked the entire mile. Another neck back was Party Boy (Michael Kimelman).
It was an exciting finish, which had another non-favorite in this series win a race. The backers for every $2 win mutuel on this horse were “really lucky” to get a $14 return at the windows for their win wagers.
The mile went in 1:54, with a 2 second variant. The 11 year-old gelding is owned by Friendship Stables LLC from NJ and is trained by Paul Blumenfeld.
The MADC will be back next Friday night (May 5) with the first race scheduled to go to post at 6:20 p.m.
