Lying In Cash repeats in Northville Open

Northville, MI – Lying in Cash and driver Jason Merriman came from off the pace in the Saturday night (June 24) featured Open Handicap Pace at Northville Downs to win by a half-length in a blanket finish in 1:54.1.

Stars Align A (Kim Pluta), Gabe The Babe (Drew Neill) and Youmakemyheartsing (Art McIlmurray) left hard for the early lead to a quarter in ;26.4. Stars Align A settled on top but was immediately pressured by Oh K Man and Marc St. Louis, Jr. who took over to three-quarters in 1:25.1. Gabe The Babe slid up the passing lane turning for home and Lying In Cash who was ninth at the quarter pole came wide for the drive and blazed by them all to win by a half-length margin over Gabe the Babe who settled for the place; Oh K Man was third.

Lying in Cash is bred, owned, and trained in Michigan by Techia Lohmann and the win was career number 33 and it pushed his lifetime earnings to $219,096.

Drivers Kody Massey and Jason Merriman both had driving triples while Justin Irvine and Lindsay Moen had driving doubles on the night and trainer Al Tomlinson had a training double as well.

Racing at The Ville resumes Friday (June 30) at 7 p.m. Friday night is dollar night featuring $1 live programs, $1 pop and popcorn, $2 hot dogs and beer and hamburger and cheeseburger specials.
