East Rutherford, NJ — Three MADC amateur races were on the Friday night (July 21) Meadowlands card and all races were exciting with none of the post time favorites winning. This made many bettors happy as all three payouts were in double digits.

In the first race on the card, it was a gutsy first over grind for Sweet Moves (John Calabrese) who ended up winning by a length. A hard closing In Nevada N (Bruno Chiodo) finished second while the pacesetter, Pan Street USA (Cameron Capone) rounded out the trifecta. The mile went in 1:55.3. The winner is a 7-year-old mare, owned and trained by Joseph Gulotta.
In the fifth race on the card, it was a scramble for the lead and plenty of horses took the scenic route, but in the end it was the two horses that started out last and second to last that were the top two finishers at the end of the race. James Slendorn guided Harry Hanover from last to get up by a neck over Rock To Glory (Chiodo). Longshot Tisadream N (Mike Terpolilli) rounded out the trifecta. The mile was timed in 1:55.4. The winner is a 4-year-old gelding, co-owned by Slendorn and trainer Kelvin Harrison.
In the eighth race and final MADC race on the card, it was a mid-pack move by Takeittotheface (Peter Kleinhans), who squeezed out in time and avoided a judges’ inquiry to be kept up in the top spot, winning by a length. The favorite, Ferdinand A (Slendorn) finished second, while Lincoln Boulevard (Calabrese) finished third. This mile was timed in a fast 1:52.1. The winner is a 9-year-old gelding owned by Ivy Kariuki and trained by James Foley.
The MADC will be back next week with the first post on Friday night scheduled for 6:20 p.m.
