Red Mile continues red hot racing on Sunday

Lexington, KY – Hambletonian winner Tactical Approach (Tactical Landing) takes center stage as the The Red Mile summer championship meeting moves into its fourth week with a Sunday-Monday-Tuesday (Aug. 12-14) schedule.

Tactical Approach will be in action on Tuesday in the second leg of the $80,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings and has drawn the inside one post.

Trained by Nancy Takter for owners Robert Leblanc, John Fielding, Joe Sirocco and JAF Racing, Scott Zeron will, once again, be in the sulky.

Also in the event is Point Of Perfect (Walner), a Hambletonian elimination winner and fifth in the final. Yannick Gingras will handle the lines for trainer Ron Burke and his Burke Racing Stable, Hatfield Stables, Knox Services and Jerry and Theresa Silva.

The nine horse field also includes Brodeur (Tactical Landing) and Ari Ferrari J (Walner), both with strong credentials coming into the action.

The week will feature 30 Kentucky Stakes, highlighted by six $80,000 Sire Stakes Championship events for 2- and 3-year-olds.

On Sunday (Aug. 13), the 15-race program includes the second leg of the Kentucky Sires Stakes Championship Series with 2-year-old pacing fillies and 3-year-old trotting fillies in the summer sunlight followed by 2-year-old trotting fillies, and 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Monday’s 16-race program.

Sunday’s program features harness racing’s only sub-1:50 2-year-old performer this season—the filly Geocentric (Sweet Lou) as this filly turned the Red Mile oval in 1:49.4-:53.4-:26.3 for Tim Tetrick, who was in the bike for trainer Brian Brown and owners Milton Leeman, Alan Keith, James Stambaugh and Joe Sbrocco.

Geocentric is undefeated in three lifetime starts in this young semester and is facing four foes in her $80,000 2nd leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series.

Of course, in the “Better for the Bettor” department, The Red Mile will continue to offer a rich buffet of wagering items including a 20-cent Pick-6 (with a low 15% takeout), a 50-cent Pick-5 with an industry low 12% takeout, a Super Hi-5 (15% takeout), and a pair pf Pick-4 events, the first one beginning in Race six with a 12% takeout and a $10,000 guaranteed pool.
