Face Time Bourbon half-brother sold for record price in France

At the Auctav Sale in Normandy, the yearling colt Machiavel Bourbon on Thursday (Aug. 24) was sold for a record 580,000 Euro or $625,000.

That is the highest price ever paid for a yearling at a European sale.

Machiavel Bourbon is sired by Prodigious — one of the leading stallions in France — and out of Vita Bourbon, she the dam of Face Time Bourbon (sired by Ready Cash), the two-time winner of the Prix d’Amerique and now a successful stallion.

The former record at a European sale was the colt Aristoteles Face (sired by Chapter Seven) who was sold at the Kolgjini Sale in Sweden in 2019 for 436,500 Euro — or $470,000.
