Lake, Miller, and Main pick up wins in Spring Haven Farm Ladies Driving Series

Edgerton, OH — Seven races were contested in the Spring Haven Farm Ladies Driving Series this past week with Vickielynne Lake and Devan Miller each picking up three wins. Jennifer Main came home first in the final race.

The action got underway on Tuesday (Aug. 29) at the Van Wert County Fair in Van Wert, Ohio. Two divisions of the pacing race were held with Lake taking the first split with General Simba in 2:01.4. Miller piloted Fred’s Nightmare to victory in the second division in a time of 1:58.1.

The Hancock County Fair at Findlay, Ohio, hosted one pacing race on Thursday (Aug. 31). Lake found the winner’s circle again after steering Pronto Tonto to a 2:02.4 winning mile.

The series returned to Van Wert on Labor Day (Sept. 4) with one trotting race and three pacing races. Miller posted a win in the lone trotting race with Cruzen Cassi in 2:04.3. Lake won again with Pronto Tonto in the first pacing division with a winning time of 2:05.2. Fred’s Nightmare provided Miller another win after touring the Van Wert oval in 2:00.2 in the second split. Main closed out the week’s action with a win with Anoche in 2:00.

Miller now leads the series with 483 points. She is followed by Mandy Jones with 401 points and Emma Wahlberg with 368 points.

The series will resume next week at the Williams County Fair in Montpelier, Ohio and the Wyandot County Fair in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Montpelier will play host to both the trotting and the pacing races on Wednesday (Sept. 13). Post time for the first race that day is 1 p.m. Later that same day a pacing race will be contested at Upper Sandusky. The action gets underway at Upper Sandusky at 5 p.m.
