Dayton Pick-5 produces two $19k winners

Dayton, OH — Wagering was a frenzy Thursday (Oct. 5) at Dayton Raceway with a $25,000 guaranteed Pick-5 pool producing two winning tickets.

A total of $18,028 in live money remained after heavy favorite Primary Colors (Brett Miller) scored in the first leg, but things quickly changed stride in leg two when 5-1 shot Odds On Capitalism (Tyler Smith) found his way to victory, leaving $1,878 in live money. The third leg saw an even greater upset when 27-1 outsider The Thunder Rolls (Tony Hall) swooped the field to leave just $6. in live money. Stars Align A (Dan Noble, 5-2) and Caviart Cooper (Smith, 2-1) completed the sequence, leaving two winning tickets each paying $19,446.30.

Dan Noble enjoyed a driving hat trick on the evening, winning with Key Advisor (1:50.3) and the aforementioned Stars Align A (1:52.2) for his wife, trainer Christi Noble, and also steering Carlos Mittanna (1:53.1) to victory for trainer Pete Redder. Steve Carter had a training double.
