Dayton, OH – After butting heads with some of the best pacers in North America all year long, Hellabalou added the $25,000 Open Pace to his resume after capturing the feature event at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Thursday (Oct. 12).
Hellabalou and driver Chris Page used a quick turn of foot to outstep Chase H Hanover for command on the front end. The son of Sweet Lou then led the field through fractions of :27, :56.1 and 1:23.3 to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:50.3 over Chase H Hanover and JKS Champ. Trained by Ron Burke for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC, Eric Good, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Larry Karr, Hellabalou paid $4.60 and has banked over $970,000 in career earnings.
It was also an exciting day for the connections of Let It Ride N, as the 10-year-old gelding celebrated his 50th career win. The son of Rock N Roll Heaven retreated off the car while Later Dudes set a quick early tempo up front through fractions of :27.1, :54.4 and 1:22. Let It Ride N ($4.00) made his first-over attack to nip Later Dudes and Walknaftermidnight at the wire in 1:49.4. Driven to victory by Dan Noble for trainer Mike Hitchcock and owners William Hart and Enzed Racing Stable Inc., Let It Ride N has earned $910,000 in his illustrious career.
Chris Page and Dan Noble each scored a driving hat trick on the evening.
