The 27-year-old reinsman obtained his license in 2015 and has since recorded six million-dollar seasons, his richest coming in 2022, during which the Ohio-born driver banked $3,378,548 in purses. Among Smith’s career highlights is a victory in the Kentucky Filly Futurity in 2021 with Katies Lucky Day.

Smith notched his 1,000th driving win aboard Walknaftermidnight trained by his father, Jeff Smith. The younger Smith and Walknaftermidnight took command early from post six and led the field through fractions of :26.2, :55.2 and 1:23.1 to a mile time of 1:50.4. The father-son duo has teamed up since 2015, with Trevor’s first career driving opportunity coming aboard Votto at the Wilmington (Ohio) Fair.
