Milleniums Girl cruises to feature win at Vernon

Vernon, NY — Milleniums Girl and driver Barton Dalious captured the $6,500 pacing feature for fillies and mares at Vernon Downs on Friday (Nov. 3).

Milleniums Girl ($5.60) blasted out for the lead and controlled a :26.4 quarter before So Diva (Chris Long) advanced to challenge for the lead up the backstretch. Milleniums Girl maintained her advantage to the half in :56.3 and three-quarters in 1:25.4 as the two mares battled around the final turn.

As they reached the stretch, Milleniums Girl broke free and it became a race for second. Milleniums Girl won easily in 1:53.4. The Hunt Is On (Truman Gale) fired late to finish second; Jeannies Terror (Tom Merton) collected third money.

Milleniums Girl is a 5-year-old mare by Royel Millenium. She is trained by David Dewhurst for owners Chris and Dale Lawton. It was her fourth win this season. She now has 14 career victories.

Dalious, John MacDonald and Chris Long all had driving doubles.
