A son of Meadowlands Pace winner He’s Watching p,3,1:46.4 ($1,116,450) out of Breeders Crown winner Stylish Artist p,3,1:51 ($937,566), she by Artsplace, Tattoo Artist has raced at the top level from his 2-year-old season through this year’s campaign, as a 6-year-old.

At 2, he won three legs of the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series and the Super Final followed by victories in the Simcoe, four legs of the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series and a second-place finish in the North America Cup at 3. As an older horse, Tattoo Artist captured numerous Invitationals and Opens, this year winning the Canadian Pacing Derby, in 1:47.4, over Jug winner Bythemissal and Allywag Hanover; the Dayton Derby, in 1:48; and his elimination of the Breeders Crown,

“I’ve had Tattoo Artist since he was a youngster, and the fact that he’s in razor sharp form at age 6 after 94 starts is remarkable”, says partnership spokesman Eric Cherry. “He has all the tools for a successful stallion career: durability, extreme early speed, soundness and grit. I plan on breeding many of my best broodmares to him.”

Tentative plans are to finish his career with starts at Rosecroft, in the Potomac Pace Invitational, and at the Meadowlands, in the FanDuel Final.
