Grove City, OH — For the third time in five years, the defending freshman filly pacer of the year has stepped up to repeat as a sophomore. In 2023 McSeaside followed the path of Sea Silk (2022) and Queen Of The Pride (2019) to be named Ohio’s 3-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year.

McSeaside started her 3-year-old campaign by winning the James Hackett Memorial. She added wins in four legs of the Ohio Sires Stakes and the Ohio Breeders Championship.

“Absolutely one of the nicest horses, truly a pleasure to train,” said trainer Ron Burke.

McSeaside started 20 races, winning seven and adding two second and two third-place finishes. She earned $299,887 in 2023.

McSeaside was owned by Burke Racing Stable, Beasty, J&T Silva Stables, and Knox Services Inc. She was sold to Sergent Stables at the end of last year who partnered with Andray Farm to produce the Downbytheseaside filly.

McSeaside will be honored at the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association annual awards banquet on Jan. 13 at the Marriott Columbus OSU in Columbus, Ohio. Tickets to the banquet are $30 each and can be purchased by calling the OHHA office at 614.221.3650.

The 2023 Ohio Horse of the Year will be announced at the annual awards banquet.
