Freehold, NJ — Mike Polansky pointed My Big Kadillac to the lead and stayed firm on the helm to the winning post in the $9,000 American Harness Drivers Club Trot at Freehold Raceway on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 13).

Leaving from post four, Polansky secured the lead for My Big Kadillac before a :29.3 first quarter while also keeping outside leavers Masster Blue (Anthony Verruso) and Hammer Creek (John Calabrese) parked. The wide trip caused Masster Blue to start dropping anchor through a :59.4 half, leaving Polansky to scoot away unfettered with My Big Kadillac to the backside.
Polansky opened a three-length lead trotting to three-quarters in 1:29.3, which proved sufficient cushion as he tired in the straightaway but crossed the beam three-quarter lengths better than pocket-charger Train (Paul Minore). Lionhead (Yogi Sheridan) sat a pylon trip for third, beaten another three lengths, while Hammer Creek overcame the wide route for fourth.
Mike Polansky trains and owns My Big Kadillac, a 10-year-old gelding by Kadabra. He paid $9.20 to win.
AHDC action resumes at Freehold Raceway next Saturday (Jan. 20) for another preliminary of its trotting series. First-race post time at Freehold is 12:30 p.m. (EST).
