The Paralympic Trot at Aby Racetrack on May 4 in Gothenburg is the first big open trot race in Sweden in 2024. The race carries a purse for the winner of $140,000 and the contenders will be found in four elimination races plus wild cards.

The first elimination race was Saturday afternoon (April 6) at Aby and had the elegant Swedish trotter Ônas Prince with Per Nordström as the heavy favorite.
From post position eight Ônas Prince (sired by Chocolatier) was parked out the whole trip, but still managed to win by a head followed by Beartime with Carl Johan Jepson, both timed in 1:55.3f (mile rate).
At Vincennes another Swedish trotter, Usain Töll, won the main event, Prix Kerjacques with a total purse of $120,000.
Usain Töll (sired by Googoo Gaagaa) with Benjamin Rochard in the bike managed to get the better of Gamay de l’Iton (sired by Bird Parker) with Francois Lagadeuc to win in 1:54.1 (mile rate).
Usain Töll is Italian-owned and trained.
Back in Sweden the fifth invitation to the Elitlopp has been handed out to the connections of the 5-year-old A Fair Day.
A Fair Day (sired by Maharajah) is so far the fastest trotter in Sweden this year as he won at Färjestad last week in 1:51.3f.
