Seymour Grundy, 98, dies

Columbus, OH — Seymour Grundy, 98, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Detroit, Mich., died May 17, 2024.

Mr. Grundy was a longtime owner/breeder of more than 250 Standardbreds, including O’Brien Award winner, world champion and Hall of Fame inductee Camluck, two-time O’Brien Award winner Armbro Officer, and Fan Hanover winner Stonebridge First.

He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Cowen Grundy; treasured father of Clifford, Paula (Jay) Mellin, Marc (Sari) Roland, and Marcie (Dale) Lebow; cherished “Pops” of Katherine, Alyse (Kevin) Robertelli, Brett (Stephanie) Mellin, Randi (Steve) Fried, Lindsay (Jason) Brumbelow, Robyn (Bryan) Weiss, and Michael Lebow; adoring great-grandfather of Sloane Robertelli, Harper Robertelli, Jacob Mellin, Miles Mellin, Ella Fried, Ari Fried, Brody Fried, Hayley Weiss, Mitchell Weiss, Isaac Brumbelow, and Amy Brumbelow; loving brother of Alan, the late Sylvia Reizen and the late Carol Reizen; and special uncle of Rick Reizen. He was the dear son of the late David and Bertha.
