Odds On Sara Sara takes McCoy final at Scioto Downs

Grove City, OH — Eldorado Scioto Downs held its last final of the mini-series for Ohio sired non-winners of one on Friday (June 7). Odds On Sara Sara and Sam Widger took the $30,000 Steve McCoy, for filly and mare pacers, in 1:55.

Leaving from post seven, the eventual winner’s stablemate Seaside Party (Brett Miller) crossed over quickly to take the lead and took the field to the :27.3 opening quarter. Race favorite John’s Shadow (Beau Brown) pulled midway through the first turn and took over through fractions of :56.3 and 1:25.4.

Meanwhile, Odds On Sara Sara got away in the middle of the pack, pulled down the backstretch to be third over and followed the three-wide cover of Bella Rain (Dan Noble) through the last turn. It was a cavalry charge to the finish with Odds On Sara Sara on the far outside winning by a quarter-length over Jumpstyle Hanover (Chris Page) who split Seaside Party, who got the pocket trip to finish third, and John’s Shadow who was fourth.

Odds On Sara Sara is by Racing Hill out of Keystone Paula. Virgil Morgan Jr. trains the filly, who now has $27,870 in lifetime earnings in eight starts, for Odds On Racing.

The 90-day 2024 Eldorado Scioto Downs race meet runs through Saturday (Sept. 14). More information about racing at Scioto can be found on the Eldorado Scioto Downs website.
