Valottalove takes feature, Bailey gets slam at Vernon

Vernon, NY — Valottalove (John MacDonald) captured the $7,500 featured trot on Friday (June 28) at Vernon Downs.

Zapaca (Steeven Genois) went straight to the front and led to the quarter in :27.3. Valottalove ($2.60) made his move first-over heading to the backstretch and was first to the half in :57. He cruised to three-quarters in 1:25.1.

As they reached the stretch Valottalove found another gear. Second place finisher Zapaca gave it a late try but it was too late as Valottalove won in a lifetime best of 1:54. Lepanto (Leon Bailey) finished third.

Valottalove is a 5-year-old gelding by Love You. He is owned by J P Stables and trained by MacDonald. It was his fourth win this season. He now has 13 career victories.

Leading driver Leon Bailey continued his hot streak with four straight trips to the winner’s circle. He got his wins with Lady Eight, Night Star, Starlit Jackson, and Bet Big On Blue.
