Adamczyk sweeps Monticello NAADA divisions

Monticello, NY — Andrew Adamczyk nabbed victories in the pair of $7,500 divisions of the North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) Trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday (July 3).

In the first division, Adamczyk popped off a pocket ride to a 1:59.4 victory with Explosive Ridge. Adamczyk secured the pocket spot out of post five to a :29.4 first quarter carved by Raceace (driven by Alan Schwartz) and stayed steady in the trail through a 1:00.2 half. Explosive Ridge emerged with a challenge moving to three-quarters in 1:30 and dug into Raceace all through the final turn. Raceace folded in the stretch drive, leaving Explosive Ridge to edge away to a 1-3/4-length win with Just A Passenger (Marianna Monaco) third another four lengths behind and Cellular (Scott Keppler) fourth.

Andrew Adamczyk owns and trains Explosive Ridge, a 10-year-old gelding by Explosive Matter. Off the second choice, he paid $5 to win.

Adamczyk later romped with the odds-on favorite Stick With Me Kid to post a front-stepping 1:59 win in the second division. Stick With Me Kid cleared command out of post seven and strolled through a clip of :29.2, 1:00.1 and 1:29.3 before kicking away from his peers in the lane to a 4-1/4-length win. Pocket-sitter Kasha’s Boy (Alan Schwartz) gave chase in second with All Rise (Joe Lee) another seven lengths behind in third and Swan Hilluva Time (Tony Ciuffetelli) fourth.

Nick Devita trains Stick With Me Kid, a 10-year-old gelding by Deweycheatumnhowe, for owner J M F Racing LLC. He paid $3.50 to win.

NAADA action resumes next Wednesday (July 10) with another preliminary for the club’s summer series at Monitcello. First-race post time is 12:10 p.m. (EDT).
