Ohio Sires Stakes and Buckeye Stallion Series highlight Monday card at MGM Northfield Park

Grove City, OH — The Ohio Sires Stakes and Buckeye Stallion Series take center stage at MGM Northfield Park Monday night (July 15). Four $50,000 divisions of 2-year-old colt trotters are on tap in OSS action with five $20,000 divisions in the BSS to be contested for freshman filly pacers.

In the first Sires Stakes division, Pink Panther will be looking for his sixth win of the year. His only loss came in the $150,000 Next Generation when the son of Marseille-Callmepinkalicious finished sixth. Betty Clegg trains Pink Panther. The 8-5 morning line favorite is Rose Run Ari. He finished second in the Next Generation. Todd Luther trains Rose Run Ari.

Scrappys Love is the 2-1 favorite in the second division. The Long Tom-Love To Win colt won his first start of the year. Chris Beaver trains Scrappys Love. The second choice is Lt Loverboy. The Daren Harvey trainee has hit the board in both starts this year, winning one.

Chris Page and Ron Burke will try to continue their dominance in the Ohio Sires Stakes action as Memory Vault is the even-money favorite in the third division. Memory Vault (Uncle Peter-Thankful Reward) has hit the board twice this year, with a win and a third-place finish. Rosy Weaver’s Quintuplet is the second choice and is looking for his second win of the year.

The final division features Next Generation winner Whats Shakin. Ronnie Gillespie trains the What The Hill-Broadway Sister gelding. Whats Shakin is the 4-5 favorite. Caviar Creek is the 9-2 second choice. Chris Beaver trains Caviar Creek.

In the Buckeye Stallion Series, 26 trainers will send 39 fillies to the track. Jason McGinnis has four entries while Robert Brooks and Steve Carter have three.

The 39 freshman filly pacers represent 14 stallions. Eight daughters of Downbytheseaside will race. Bit Of A Legend N, Catch The Fire, and Fear The Dragon will have four offspring each behind the gate.

In the first division, Gorgeous Package is the even-money favorite. The Lather Up-Special Package filly has one win at Northfield Park already under her belt. McGinnis trains Gorgeous Package.

Another daughter of Lather Up, out of Moonlite Delite, Maddie’s Delite, is the 7-5 favorite in the second division. Trained by Carter, Maddie’s Delite was third in the $150,000 Next Generation at Eldorado Scioto Downs on July 6.

Foxy Seaside will try to remain perfect in the third division. This will be the second lifetime start for the Downbytheseaside-Foxy Rigger filly. The McGinnis trainee is the 7-5 favorite.

In the fourth division, Racin Like A Star is the 8-5 favorite. The Racing Hill-Joe’s Miss Daisy filly will look to notch her first victory for Carter.

Sweetens Cove will look for her fifth win in six starts in the final division. Racing primarily at county fairs up to this point, the daughter of The Panderosa-Naracoorte has bankrolled $9,457. Brooks trains the 2-1 favorite.

First race post time at MGM Northfield Park is 6 p.m.
