Signature Series Pace at Crawford County Fair

Bucyrus, OH – This Wednesday’s (July 7) $5,000 Signature Series Pace at the Crawford County Fair (post time 6:00 p.m., the first of the two days of racing) has a field of six which includes Ameer Najor’s venerable 14-year-old gelding Southwind Amazon.

The son of Camluck-Artoonist, a winner of over $1.4 million is on his quest to become harness racing’s all-time leader in lifetime victories as he seeks his 134th career win. This iron horse has gone to post in every season since 2012 and has passed Ohio’s Immortal Rambling Willie p,1:54.3f as he has his sights on Canada’s Niffit p,2:05h and his Golden Grail of 137 triumphs. Amazon has earned a “batting average” of .488 with his record of 133 firsts, 62 seconds, 53 thirds in 379 starts and he has been owned by the Michigan-based Najor since 2016.

A tip of the hat to his conditioner Paul Holzman as he aims for this remarkable feat as they pass through Bucyrus and will possibly take home a win.
