There was a four-horse cavalry charge leaving the gate with Nine One Oh Six and Dan Noble settling in second by the :26.3 opening quarter. The 4-5 favorite Theheavyweightway (Kayne Kauffman) continued to set the fractions, hitting the half in :55.2 and the three-quarters in 1:23.2 as Nocrynintheuber (Chris Page) made a first over bid. Nine One Oh Six was nose to helmet in the pocket waiting for the passing lane and was able to win by a half-length over the pacesetting Theheavyweightway; Nocrynintheuber was third.

The Sherman was for Ohio sired non-winners of two colt and gelding pacers and had two legs leading up to the final. Theheavyweightway won the first leg and Nine One Oh Six took the second leg.

Nine One Oh Six, by Lather Up out of the Rock N Roll Heaven mare Passionate Beauty, now has four wins in 17 lifetime starts and $46,519 in earnings. The 3-year-old gelding is trained by Christi Noble for Tim Homan, Norman Rae Racing and Jim Burnett.
