What An Ocean View takes Adamsky at Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — What An Ocean View squeaked out a quarter-length 1:51.4 victory in the $30,000 Joe Adamsky Final at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Saturday (July 20).

Dancin Moon and Jeremy Smith took the early lead from post seven towards the opening :27 quarter. Knockout Rock (Luke Hanners) sat in the pocket with Twenty Five (Dan Noble) coming first up at the 55.4 half. What An Ocean View was second over and tipped three-wide as the field headed to the 1:23.1 three-quarters. Knockout Rock came up the passing lane to be second, with Dancin Moon holding on for third.

What An Ocean View is trained by Ron Burke for Burke Racing, Knox Services, R A S Racing and J&T Silva-Purnel & Libby. The 3-year-old gelding by Downbytheseaside out of the Yankee Cruiser mare Graceful Vision was a $120,000 Ohio Selected Yearling Sale purchase from LMN Bred Stables. What An Ocean View has six wins in 13 starts on the year and $82,015 in seasonal earnings.

The Joe Adamsky Series was for horses and geldings who were eligible to the Buckeye Stallion Series but did not race in the second leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes. The series consisted of three $15,000 legs and a final.

Other series divisional winners were Champa Bay Hall (Austin Hanners for Steve Carter) in the Jay Kaltenbach for 3-year-old filly trotters in 1:56.2 and Fearless Ginger (Hanners for Tim Lane) in the Dr. Davis for 3-year-old filly pacers in 1:51.3.

The 90-day 2024 Eldorado Scioto Downs race meet runs through Saturday, September 14. Races are held Tuesday-Saturday with a first post of 5:45 p.m. each day, except for Friday, September 13 which will have a 6:15 p.m. post to help accommodate horsemen attending the Ohio Selected Yearling Sale.
