Bet On Big Joe closes the show at The Red Mile

Lexington, KY — The Red Mile opened the season Sunday in front of a large crowd offering over $400,000 in purses, with camel and ostrich races, and many other activities as well. The card featured the Kentucky Proud Series finals, eight races each carrying a purse of $50,000.

Bet On Big Joe stole the show by taking the nightcap in a lifetime best of 1:51.2 for driver Andy Miller. The 3-year-old Betting Line gelding easily handled his competition for his eighth win this season.

Cinamontoastcrunch started the evening by cruising to a fairly easy victory in a lifetime best of 1:53 for driver Marcus Miller. The 2-year-old filly by Captain Crunch is now a four-time winner from five lifetime starts.

Marvin Luna guided Swan Explosion to victory in the 3-year-old colt trot. The son of Swan For All also finished with a new lifetime mark of 1:53.1.

Next up, Doc’s Buddy handled his competition by 2-1/4 lengths in a lifetime best of 1:54.4 for driver Randal Jerrell. The 2- year-old colt by He’s Watching now has four wins on the season and $75,350 in earnings.

Yo Monica with Lewayne Miller captured the 2-year-old filly trot for her first lifetime victory. The Cantab Hall miss crossed the wire first in 1:58.3.

Tameudown and driver Peter Wrenn got the best of the favorite in deep stretch to take the 3-year-old filly pace. The daughter of Fear The Dragon picked up her fifth win of the year in a lifetime best of 1:53.

Nicolas Roussel guided House Of Love to an easy win in the 3-year-old filly trot. The daughter of Trixton won by four lengths in a new lifetime mark of 1:54.2.
