The 7-year-old Hohneck is not only one of the top trotters in Europe, he is also the most sought-after stallion in France, where he has covered 183 mares this year.
A stallion in France is limited to 100 mares, but Hohneck has also served 83 foreign mares; this is quite common for a French stallion to do.
Idao de Tillard, the winner of the 2024 Prix d’Amerique, has served a total of 160 mares and he is also still racing.
Third on the list is Face Time Bourbon, who has been retired from racing; he covered 152 mares in France.
A total of 12,735 mares have been served in France by French stallions by July 20.
Neither Hohneck nor Idao de Tillard is sired by Ready Cash, but the most successful stallion in Europe in this millennium has 35 sons and 32 grandsons that have bred mares in 2024.
