Paris — Jushua Tree and trainer-driver Jean-Michel Bazire won the main event at Enghien on Saturday afternoon (July 27) in convincing style.
Jushua Tree, who returned to action for the first time since Feb. 11, won the Group 2 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere over 1-3/4 miles in a mile rate of 1:56.3, earning the €67,500 winner’s share of the purse.
Bazire has high hopes for the 5-year-old son of Bold Eagle. Last year, Bazire said that Jushua Tree was his horse for the 2025 Prix d’Amérique. Jushua Tree was eligible to race in this year’s edition as the winner of the Criterium Continental at Vincennes in December, but Bazire forfeited to race his protégé this year.
Jushua Tree, who besides racing in 2025 also will stand stud, is presently under syndication (only stud duties) and is offered at €70,000 a share.
In Sweden, the driver-trainer duo of Örjan Kihlström and Daniel Redén once again won the Gold Division in the V75 Series. At Bollnäs, Mister Hercules (sired by Trixton) and Kihlström won by open lengths in 1.51.3f.
