Columbus, OH — Russell Bennett Hundley, 67, died July 31, 2024.
Born on Sept. 10, 1956, he was the beloved son of the late John W. and Doris (Burdette). He was the devoted husband of Dorothy, with whom he shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. He was a cherished brother to Robert (Beverly), Doug, and Mark. As a father, he was treasured by his children, Rachel and Ben, who will always remember his unwavering support and love.
Mr. Hundley retired from UPS after a distinguished career spanning over 30 years, where he made many lifelong friends and left a lasting impact on his colleagues.
He had a passion for Standardbreds, a hobby that brought him great joy and countless memories.
He loved spending quality time with his family and was always surrounded by their warmth and laughter. His labradoodle, Callie, held a special place in his heart and was his faithful companion.
He was an avid traveler who delighted in exploring new places and experiencing the beauty of the world. His adventurous spirit and love for life left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Mr. Hundley is also survived by a beloved extended family, who will miss his kindness, generosity, and loving nature deeply. His extended family includes many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
A Celebration of Russell’s Life will be held on Thursday (Aug. 8) from 4–7 p.m. at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Rd., Frankfort, KY 40601, where family and friends are invited to gather and honor his legacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holland-Farm, Inc., a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a cause close to Russell’s heart, at P.O. Box 1715, Danville, KY 40423.
