Top French trotter Horsy Dream is one of 10 trotters who on Saturday afternoon (Aug. 10) will race in the Aby World Grand Prix at the Aby track in Gothenburg.
The total purse is $950,000 and the purse for the winner is $570,000; this is the highest purse ever to a winner in a European trotting race.
The distance is 3,140 meters — or close to two miles.
Horsy Dream should have had his regular driver, the French champion Eric Raffin in the bike, but Raffin was kicked in the face Thursday morning and therefore must forfeit the trip to Sweden. Instead, Pierre Belloche, who trains Horsy Dream, will take the drive.
