France — France’s largest yearling auction, The Deauville Yearling Sale organized by Arqana-Trot and held over three days, along with the innovation, The Select European Yearling Sale conducted the day before, was a great success.
A total of 361 yearlings were sold over the four days for a combined 12,921,500 Euros.
At The Deauville Yearling Sale alone, 310 yearlings were sold at an average price of 33,924 Euros – an increase of 1.73% compared to last year’s auction, where 316 yearlings were sold.
The most expensive horse, the filly Nodessa Josselyn (Ready Cash), was sold for 740,000 Euros on the first day of the auction – making it the most expensive yearling ever sold in Europe.
The auction toppers on Thursday and Friday were somewhat cheaper.
On Thursday, the colt Nice Flash Semilly (Face Time Bourbon) was sold for 75,000 Euros, while on Friday, another colt, Nitch de Reve d’Or (Bold Eagle), topped the auction – also at 75,000 Euros.
As usual, Ready Cash and his sons dominated the Top 10 of sires – six out of the 10 sires with the highest average price per sold offspring were Ready Cash and his sons.
