Vernon, NY — Leading driver Leon Bailey drove four winners including a win with Woodside Gabe in the $8,500 featured Fink/Moriarity Wedding Celebration Open Trot at Vernon Downs on Saturday (August 31).
In the feature Zapaca (Steeven Genois) was first to quarter in :27.4. Valottalove (John MacDonald) took the lead heading to the backstretch and was first to the half in :57. Woodside Gabe ($10.80) made his move heading to the final turn and was first to three-quarters in 1:25.2.

As they reached the stretch Woodside Gabe just took off and won going away in a lifetime best of 1:54.1. Zapaca finished second. Valotta Love had to settle for third.
Woodside Gabe is a 4-year-old gelding by Dover Dan. He is trained by Amanda Bailey for owners Joe Facin Jr. and David Faile. It was his third win this season. He now has nine career victories.
He got his other wins with Scarlett Moon, Marvin B Swift, and River Belle.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Labor Day Monday (September 2) starting at 12:15 p.m.
