Northfield, OH — Saturday (August 31) night featured many surprises at MGM Northfield Park, with several longshots winning, and trainer Taylor McKean earning her first career training win.
Coffee House (Braiden Rhoades) delivered the 20-year-old McKean her first training win on Saturday, as the longest priced winner of the night at 95/1. Sitting just off the pace early, Coffee House rallied three-wide off the final turn and overtook Sudden Change N (Kurt Sugg) in the final strides to win in 1:56.4.
The $1, low 14% takeout Pick-5 went uncovered for a second straight racing night, leading to a massive wagering opportunity on Sunday (September 1). The Pick-5 beginning in Race 6 sports a carryover of $11,950.
The 50-cent Pick-6, beginning in Race 8, also went uncovered on Saturday night and will feature a carryover of $6,844.
