Harrington, DE – Tlb Racing’s Captaincountrystar ($9.40, Pat Berry) notched his 10th win of the year Monday (Sept. 2) at Harrington Raceway in the featured $22,500 Free-For-All in 1:52.3.
For the second straight week, the 4-year-old Captaintreacherous gelding won via a first-over move. The Traci Berry-trainee grinded away on the outside at pacesetting leader Sweet Angel Boy and edged clear in the stretch, while Mack closed for second. Sweet Angel Boy held third. Captaincountrystar surpassed $127,000 in seasonal earnings.
Earlier on the card, Cathy Dessert’s Imoutthedoor ($2.60, Tony Morgan) won his third straight race in a $45,000 claiming event in 1:53.1. The 6-year-old Bolt The Duer gelding went immediately to the front from post six and never looked back in his 6th win of the year for trainer Chris Scicluna.
It was one of three wins on the card for Morgan, who joined Corey Callahan with a driving triple.
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until October 23.
