Yonkers, NY – Tuesday night’s (Sept. 10) program at MGM Yonkers Raceway will have a carryover of $11,064.45 and a guaranteed pool of $25,000 in the Pick-5 after no winning tickets were held in the sequence on Monday night’s (Sept. 8) card.
The guarantee in the Pick-5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program. Free past performances for the Pick-5, courtesy of TrackMaster, will be available at handicapping.ustrotting.com. The Pick-5, which begins in race five, has a takeout rate of 20 percent.
Monday’s action was topped by a pair of $39,000 pacing events – an Invitational and an Open for 3-year-olds to 5-year-olds.
Typhoon Banner N, an 8-year-old Bettor’s Delight gelding driven by trainer Joe Bongiorno, led at every call and won the Invitational in 1:52 for owners JB Racing, Philip Steinberg and Barbara Bongiorno Stb LLC.
Verdun, a 4-year-old son of Bettor’s Delight piloted by trainer Pat Lachance, rallied from third to capture the Open in 1:51.3 for owner Thomas Ceraso Jr.
