Wallkill, NY — Captain Albano p,3,1:48.1 ($1,320,023), a son of Captaintreacherous, will stand at Blue Chip Farms in Wallkill, N.Y., for the 2025 breeding season.
Captain Albano had a standout freshman year, capturing several Pennsylvania Sire Stakes including the Sire Stakes final. Additional wins included the Bluegrass Stakes, the International Stallion Stake, and Breeders Crown elim (second in the final.) From nine starts at two, he boasted seven wins, two seconds, and posted a mark of 1:49.2, which earned him Dan Patch 2-year-old Pacing Colt of the Year honors.
A horse that has excelled on tracks of every size, Captain Albano proved even more ferocious throughout his sophomore campaign, highlighted by his easy three-plus length victories in the Little Brown Jug elim (1:49.2h) and final (1:50.1h). Other top wins include the Adios (elim and final), multiple Pennsylvania Sire Stakes, the $300,000 Hempt Memorial, and Breeders Crown elim.
Trained by Noel Daley, Captain Albano defeated the likes of Legendary Hanover, Nijinsky, Mirage Hanover, Gem Quality, and Captain Luke.
Sired by Captaintreacherous and out of the 100%-producing mare Angelou (American Ideal), Captain Albano hails from a long line of excellent racehorses and stellar producers. Blue Chip Farms is looking forward to adding this decorated 3-year-old to their stallion roster and celebrating his influence on the New York program in the coming years.
