As the entry box closed at noon this Thursday, 24 trotters were entered in the Prix de Bretagne, the first of four qualification races for open class trotters to race at Vincennes Sunday (Nov. 17).
However, the maximum field at Vincennes is 18 trotters, so six had to be scratched.
The first four trotters past the post in the Prix de Bretagne will earn a spot in the Prix d’Amerique.
Last year the race was won by Hussard du Landret followed by Hooker Berry and Hokkaido Jiel; they are also in the line-up on Sunday.
The distance is 2,700 meters (1-11/16 miles) and the total purse is 120,000 Euro.
