Columbus, OH — Sharon Ann Miner, 59, died Dec. 9, 2024, at St. Peter’s Hospice after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late William Miner and Dorothy Clairmont Angus. She was a 1983 graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School and BOCES Horse Care. She was Vice President of the class, played JV volleyball, softball and varsity basketball. She received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State College.
Ms. Miner was the owner/operator of Happy Dawg Pet Services and had also worked in the food service and childcare communities as well as at Saratoga Harness Track.
She was an independent woman and caregiver for animals, children and adults with a special affinity for horses. She considered herself a horseman at heart and to be able to power through all of life’s obstacles.
She is the sister of Linda O’Brien (late Dennis) and John (Julie) Caulkins; the aunt of Kate (Bob) Smith), John (Krissy) Caulkins, Christopher (Christina) O’Brien, Jeff (Kat) Caulkins, Jenna (Scott) Couch, Helen, Sam, Logan, Bridget, Mia, Finn, Olivia and Harper. Also surviving is her extended family and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday (Dec. 14) at 11 a.m. at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will follow at Waterford Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 10–11 a.m. prior to the memorial service.
