Sacramento, CA – Overthemoonforyou, who scored a 45-1 shocker in one of last week’s elimination heats and Made Of Misschief, who streaked home in the other, head the cast for Friday night’s (Dec. 20) $13,900 Funicello/Holt Final for pacing fillies and mares.
Watch and Wager LLC will present 12 races with a first post of 6:30 p.m. Next week racing switches to a Friday and Saturday night basis.
Overthemoonforyou is a 3-year-old Minnesota-bred daughter of Karpathian Kid who is owned by Qks Racing, takes her lessons from Quentine Schneider and will once again have Aaron Lehman in the sulky.
The longest shot on the board last week, she was last in the early stages and made an extended move first over down the backside to reach contention. She took over straightening for home and went on to a convincing length and half victory that night for the upset score.
Made Of Mischief prevailed in other elimination heat and drew off after securing a pocket trip that evening.
Jose Herrera owns, Bob Johnson trains and Sean Smithpeters will have the assignment from the outside number 10 post with last week’s pilot Luke Plano off to drive his trainee Maggie Time.
Completing the field are Quite The Flirt, TJB Secreharriet, Rockin The Dragon, Thrill Of Te Hunt, Captain Cosette, Greatest Honor, Overthemoonforyou, and Karatop Mooss.
Trio of carryovers, low takeout wagers featured Friday
Three carryovers and a trio of reduced takeout wagers will greet players when racing resumes at Cal Expo on Friday night.
There will be a $10,950 carryover in the 20-cent early Pick-5; a $2,628 carryover in the 20-cent Hi Five on the final race and a $570 carryover on the 20-cent Pick-7.
The 20-cent early and late Pick 5 and the 20-cent Pick 4 are the bets with the 16 percent takeout rate and there will be a $40,000-guaranteed gross pool on the early Pick-5. The Pick-4 is part of the U.S. Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering program.

Luke Plano, who has captured multiple driving titles here and won his first training crown at the last meet, got off to a fast start on opening night with five trips to the winner’s circle.
Plano guided two for Bob Johnson, Allmyx’sliventexas in the Open Pace and Made Of Misschief; Lous Lancelot in the Open Trot for Chip Lackey; Reagan Blue Chip for Nat Tremblay and Treasure Hunter for Rene Goulet.
