Vincennes, FR — Idao de Tillard with Clement Duvaldestin showed his best side again and secured a safe victory in the Prix de Bourgogne at Vincennes.
“He’s (Idao de Tillard) not quite at his peak yet, but now we’re in the Prix d’Amerique!” said trainer Thierry Duvaldestin after Idao de Tillard easily won Sunday’s Prix de Bourgogne at Vincennes.
After a race trailing Go On Boy with Romain Derieux, Idao de Tillard easily went round to win in 1.52.2 (mile rate) ahead of the second favorite Go On Boy. Third place went to the 5-year-old Justin Bold with Matthieu Mottier in 1.10.0 – the three are now qualified to start in the Prix d’Amerique – the fourth horse, Hokkaido Jiel with David Thomain, was already qualified.
The Prix de Bourgogne was run at a wild pace from the start.
Swedish Don Fanucci Zet with Francois Lagadeuc opened hard – then was replaced by Emeraude de Bais with Pierre Yves Verva – who galloped at the final turn and was then out of the race. Don Fanucci Zet also lost steam and finished 10th.
There was a first prize of 54,000 Euros for Idao de Tillard
The last qualifying race for the Prix d’Amerique is the Prix de Belgique, which will be run on Sunday, January 12 at Vincennes.
