Dover, DE — On a cold and windy Wednesday night (Jan. 1) at Bally’s Dover, Majorca N finally sealed the deal and won the $25,000 Mares Open Pace.
Driver Corey Callahan launched Majorca N to the lead from post seven, and the Art Major mare controlled a :27.2 opening quarter with 2-5 favorite Elektra A securing the pocket. Majorca N continued on an uncontested lead and reached the half in :55.4 and three-quarters in 1:24.4 while Disturbed Hanover made an unsuccessful first-over push up the backstretch.
Turning for home, Elektra A revved up at the pylons, but her bid fell short as Majorca N won by a measured length in 1:53.2. Elektra A finished second; Factory Girl overcame stalled cover to finish third.

Majorca N, who paid $7.40 to win, is trained by Dylan Davis for owners Michael Casalino Jr. and Dylan Davis Racing.
Thursday’s (Jan. 2) card features the $27,500 Blue Hen Handicap Pace, in which Itsrockandroll A seeks back-to-back wins, as well as a $2,111 pentafecta carryover in the 14th race. First post is 4:30 p.m. (EST).
