Monticello, NY — After a halt of racing for over a week due to extreme temperature swings raising havoc with the racing surface, on Monday afternoon (March 3), Mother Nature was on her best behavior and Monticello Raceway once again conducted live racing, presenting a seven-race card.

McGwire Sowers and Autym Robinson teamed up for a win with Racing For Rick, who scored in 2:00.1 ($11.40). The Maine-bred mare notched her third season’s win for owner Andrew Harrington of Windsor, Maine.
Leading dash-winning trainer Laura Aldrich added another one in the win column with the 2-5 favorite Explosive Leggs in 2:04 ($2.90) with Bruce Aldrich Jr. at the helm.
The trio of Merton brothers each recorded driving wins on the day, as Two Across Marion scored at 25-1 in 2:01.3 for trainer/driver/owner Thomas Merton.
Trainer Robert Dill had a double.
