Saratoga Springs, NY — Driver Leon Bailey recorded his 1,000th career win on Wednesday (April 2) at Saratoga Casino Hotel, achieving the milestone with Kyle Spagnola trainee Better Crunch in an $8,000 conditioned pace for fillies and mares.
After breaking her maiden last week, the 4-year-old Captain Crunch mare drew the rail and carved out all the fractions en route to a 1:58.1 score for owners Mark Rowland and Spagnola Racing.

Bailey, a three-time driving champion at Vernon Downs, wasted little time acquiring win No. 1,001 as he guided Dale Lawton trainee Excursion to victory in the finale.
Live racing at Saratoga resumes Sunday (April 6); first post is 12 noon.
